A GENEROUS cosmetic surgeon is offering jobless tattooed Westonians the chance to have their body art removed for free to improve their job prospects. Barry Crake wants to give treatment at his clinic in Sunderland to people whose job hunt is being thwarted by unsightly ink designs.

AN ASPIRING soldier has undergone free specialist treatment to remove a troublesome tattoo which barred him from serving his country. Army rules state that tattoos should not be visible on the head and the neck. But last Saturday, Liam paid a visit to big-hearted businessman Barry Crake, who offers free tattoo removals to people struggling to find work because of visible marks on their head, neck and hands.

Tattoo removal expert Barry Crake is offering to remove unsightly tattoos that may stop people getting a job free of charge - but only if they are genuinely looking for work.  Barry, who works from the Bellissimo salon in Sunderland, thinks one reason why people struggle to find a job is because employers can be put off by visible marks.

Barbara kept on telling herself that she would get used to her new marking, but after a few weeks she became self conscious and started covering it up.  'I knew I'd made a silly mistake.  I don't regret getting the tattoo but I should never have got it on my arm, where the whole world can see it.'

'I had looked into having laser treatment two years ago and I was told it would need 10-15 sessions and a cost of £400 per arm to remove.  But with the colours in my tattoos they said it may not come out and I may be scarred, so I decided just to put up with the tattoos.'

Danny Boyes was left with a tattooed face after a drunken prank – and now fears the artwork is putting the brakes on his dream job.  Various laser treatments have failed to fade the symbols, but Danny was given a glimmer of hope after reading an Echo article about Barry Crake.

Some are small, some enormous... in letters two inches high and half an inch wide which have been forcibly tattoed on different parts of a woman's body.  These are victims of domestic violence whose appalling past is literally skin deep, a constant reminder they bear every day they see that tattoo.

After years of classroom taunts and feeling different from her friends, Kay, now 23, has found comfort in eyebrow tattoo treatment which is being offered for free by a Sunderland clinic. Now Roker-based Bellissimo NE is offering Wearsiders suffering from alopecia or the effects of chemotherapy treatment a course of eyebrow tattooing for free.
