I originally went to have my tattoos removed, as three of them are my former partner’s name, and I hate them.

After a thorough consultation process from Barry he performed the procedure as described, and it was completely pain-free and totally non-evasive.

I can't believe I have eyebrows. I lost them in 1986 after getting Hodgkin's lymphoma and have had to draw them on ever since.

When student Paul Dresser got the tattoo bug he didn't realise it would lead him to making a silly mistake.

I was receiving support and advice from Victim Support/Domestic Violence at the time and they also told me that Barry would be able to help

The mum of three has had an NUFC tattoo removed from her neck as she believes it was hindering her in her search for work. The 31-year-old, of South Shields, got the tattoo about two years ago in what she now calls a "moment of madness".

Some out-of-work Wearsiders, who can't find a job because potential bosses are put off by their body art, are being offered new hope. Mr Crake, of Roker-based Bellissimo North East, said some tattoo marks deterred potential employers from making a job offer.

Army rules state that tattoos should not be visible on the head and the neck. Barbara kept on telling herself that she would get used to her new marking, but after a few weeks she became self conscious and started covering it up.  'I knew I'd made a silly mistake.  I don't regret getting the tattoo but I should never have got it on my arm, where the whole world can see it.'

'I had looked into having laser treatment two years ago and I was told it would need 10-15 sessions and a cost of £400 per arm to remove.  But with the colours in my tattoos they said it may not come out and I may be scarred, so I decided just to put up with the tattoos.'

Danny Boyes was left with a tattooed face after a drunken prank – and now fears the artwork is putting the brakes on his dream job.  Various laser treatments have failed to fade the symbols, but Danny was given a glimmer of hope after reading an Echo article about Barry Crake.
